Our answer
Fewer than before. Many airlines have dropped first class and made business class their top cabin, including Delta and United on international flights. But you can still fly true first class from the US on:
- British Airways: to London from several US cities, with new First suites coming to its A380s.
- Lufthansa and Swiss: to Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich on selected flights.
- Air France (La Première): to Paris from a few US cities.
- Emirates: to Dubai, then onward to the Middle East, Africa, India and Asia.
- Etihad and Qatar Airways: on a small number of aircraft and routes.
- Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, JAL and ANA: on selected flights to Asia.
- American Airlines: Flagship First on a limited number of flights.
Which flights have first class changes with the aircraft and season, so it’s best to ask for your exact route and dates. First class seats are very limited, often four to eight per flight, so they sell out early.
