Our answer
Often, yes, for international business and first class. Not always.
The reason is private fares. Airlines give some agencies special business class prices under contract. These fares don’t appear on the airline website or on the big booking sites, and they can be a lot cheaper for the same seat.
When an agent is most likely to beat the airline website:
- Long-haul international business and first class.
- Trips with more than one stop, or complicated trips such as open jaws or round-the-world.
- Peak dates, when public fares are very high.
When it may not help:
- Short domestic flights.
- Airline flash sales, which are often the same price everywhere.
A good agent also helps when things go wrong: schedule changes, cancellations, seat changes. That’s worth a lot on an expensive ticket.
There’s no harm in comparing. Get a quote from us, check it against the airline’s price, and book whichever is better.
