Our answer
Bedding: yes, usually. On long overnight flights, most good business class products give you a proper pillow and a duvet or thick blanket, and many add a mattress pad to put on top of the seat when it’s flat. The big US airlines all offer proper bedding in their long-haul business class, as do most international airlines. The crew will often make up your bed for you if you ask, which is the closest thing to a turn-down service.
Pajamas: sometimes. Most airlines only give pajamas in first class. A few airlines also hand out pajamas or lounge wear in business class on longer overnight flights, and some only on certain routes. If pajamas matter to you, pack a comfy set just in case. The lavatory is fine for changing.
Tips for a good night’s sleep in business class:
- Eat in the lounge before you board, then ask to skip the meal and go straight to sleep.
- Ask for an extra pillow or blanket if the cabin is cold.
- Pick a seat away from the galley and lavatories.
- Use the eye mask and earplugs from the amenity kit, or bring your own.
