Our answer
Yes. Children are welcome in business class on almost every airline, and it can make a long flight much easier for the whole family.
- Babies under 2: on international flights, a baby on your lap usually pays around 10% of the adult fare plus taxes. Many long-haul business class cabins have bassinet positions, but there are only a few, so request one when you book.
- Children 2 and over need their own seat, usually at the adult fare or a small discount, depending on the airline.
- Seating together: in some business class layouts, seats are staggered or far apart. Ask for seats where you can easily see and reach your child, such as the middle pair on a 1-2-1 layout.
- Car seats: rules vary a lot by airline and seat type, so check before you fly.
Tip: book early. Families need seats together and bassinets, and those go first.
